A United Kingdom-based medical doctor, Femi Salako, has urged families to imbibe child safety and parenting skills in order to have a quality family life.
Salako said this on Monday while unveiling a family blog, familyaffairsblog.com, which focuses on the hygiene and well-being of families and communities, in Lagos.
The site, which was launched by a team of medical practitioners and family counsellors on Monday, was envisioned to be a one-stop online forum for child safety and parenting skills.
According to the Marketing and Media Consultant, Family Affairs Blog, Mr. Melvin Udosen, the unveiling of the blog marked a new beginning in providing a guide for parents with the right knowledge, skills, assistance and capabilities for nurturing their children from infanthood to adulthood.
Udosen added that the site also sought to ensure that single parents and married couples achieve parenthood, and be financially and psychologically empowered to have a fulfilling family life.
He said, “Our focus areas are child protection, development, growth, education, preconception, conception and post-conception, among others. The platform connects every family member to local and global opportunities. It also consults for and promotes small businesses owned by young adults, women and men that cater to family needs.
“Like an advocacy group, the site and its team are driven by the passion to make a positive impact and bring an end to the menaces of child molestation, spouse abuse, violence, family instability, negligence, separation and divorce, among others. It has rich and engaging contents and focuses on how to have a work life balance.”
